Meet the CEO

FOUNDER AND CEO

Jaquetta R. Bazier

Jaquetta, also known as J, is a multi-passionate entrepreneur, award-winning essayist, and recovering civil litigation paralegal with over 20 years of knowledge in the areas of law, business, insurance, military, and government.

Velvet Quill Communications was born when she realized she could use her diverse professional background to help businesses distribute information easily with the power of effective writing and documentation.

J holds paralegal certificates from the University of Oklahoma and Kansas State University, and before embarking on her paralegal journey she studied political science at Tuskegee University, where she became the battalion commander of the Army ROTC unit and was crowned Miss Army ROTC.

Today, Jaquetta is a Notary Public and Remote Online Notary, commissioned in the State of Texas, a member of the National Notary Association, and an AAERT member.

Her most recent accomplishment? Becoming a mediator — a goal she set for herself in 2016. In 2022, just three months after breast cancer surgery, she completed the Texas basic mediation training and the advanced family mediation training. In January 2023, she launched Forge Strategies, LLC to help individuals, families, and businesses move forward beyond heated disputes.

She currently serves her community by providing volunteer mediation services for the Harris County Dispute Resolution Center. While living in New Mexico, she was the assistant secretary of the Dona Ana County NAACP, while also working as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for foster care children with Mesilla Valley CASA.

As a publisher and award-nominated author, Jaquetta and her team will help your professional services organization communicate with confidence like never before.
